Get a Truck for the Holidays! 3

Now, you are probably wondering about why I am pitching the idea that you should have a massive, 4-or-more wheeled vehicle in your garage instead of a cute subcompact or an energy-efficient hybrid. A truck, in this time of high technology?

The crux of my argument hovers over the idea that the current world has become a little more… unsafe. Whether you look from it from a geopolitical perspective, or an environmental one, you’ll easily come to the conclusion that it’s just not as stable and secure as you would have imagined this modern world to be.

So, why own a truck?

Nature’s Wrath

Have you seen the weather lately? Typhoons, hurricanes, tornadoes galore, all over the world. No country seems safe from the harshness of the environment. More and people, people and nations are beginning to realize that humanity has more than an incidental role in why the various climates are changing. This doesn’t even put into consideration the utter unpredictability of seismic movements right underneath our feet.

Trucks, by sheer virtue of having bigger wheels, greater height from the ground, more powerful engines, and sturdier construction, can negotiate rough road conditions, floods, debris, and other things mother Nature may put in your way. Having a big and strong vehicle will give you the ability to surmount these obstacles and get to where you’re going (hopefully, somewhere safe).

Greater Capacity

Good luck stuffing a couple of large suitcases into your 2-door sports coupe. The larger cargo capacity of trucks, along with their beefier engine displacements, will ensure that you can carry your entire house (in the case of trailers and RVs), or at least a good part of it without buckling. Did I mention Black Friday and Christmas shopping?

This cargo and people-moving capacity will come in handy when things do get too dangerous and you have to evacuate people away from the hazardous area. In non-emergency situations, it also allows you to make moving day a little cheaper and less troublesome.

Reliability

The lineage of even the smallest pickup trucks hail from the workhorses that have served our industries admirably, working as many hours as the men and women that drive them. These machines are designed to take much punishment and function in the most adverse of conditions.

During an emergency, you don’t want your vehicle stalling or buckling under the pressure. This is yet another reason why you should opt for a tough truck rather than a slick and svelte car. Convinced yet? Check out the selection of new and pre-owned trucks available out there from online marketplaces like Next Truck.

In closing, let me share with you the already viral video of Jean-Claude Van Damme that not only makes you admire the venerable kickboxer, but convince you that trucks are powerful, precise, and cool:

With the series of celebrations and gift-giving fully underway, it would not be beyond thought that you could go out there and purchase a 4-wheeled gift for your most special loved one (or yourself). Happy Holidays, everyone!
