Picking gifts for moms can be very tricky. Yes, you might be able to get her something she needs, but it is something that would make her smile?
If you truly want to make your mom happy and show how much she means to you, but don’t know how to pick the right gift, don’t fret! Here are a few tips on choosing your next Mother’s day present.
What type of mom do you have?
If your mom loves to break a sweat to keep her body in perfect shape, get her things she can use in the gym. A gym bag, a sports towel, a water container are good ideas. If she’s one who enjoys whipping up a new recipe in the kitchen or crafting a new DIY project, get her things for the kitchen or little crafty objects. Meanwhile, if she’s dedicated to her career, then she’d love trendy briefcases and desk accessories.

Because you want to give her a unique gift, make sure she doesn’t have it (or something very similar) already. If you still live with your mom, check her room, closet, or drawer. Just make sure to do it inconspicuously. If you don’t live with her, you can get in cahoots with your dad or someone else who lives with her. You can also do it yourself – visit her during the weekend and make an ocular inspection.
Listen to her latest requests.
Have you been hearing out her requests lately? One way to get it right is by listening carefully to what she is currently asking for. Does she want a new bag or new footwear? Is she craving to go out of town? Is she excited to get the latest Gucci perfume? If you took the time to listen and remember, you won’t have trouble getting a gift she’d want. It pays to listen.
